New Build House, Haugh of Urr
A new house for private clients within a rural village setting. The scale and massing of the house had to be carefully considered with its context, particularly given the sloping site. The mass of the building is broken down through the use of different materials.
The principle living spaces are arranged to maximise views onto the garden, with an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge. From this space, the clients enjoy expanses of glazing onto a sheltered, southerly aspect providing ample natural daylighting.
Joanna was Project Architect, working on initial proposals under Simon Winstanley Architects; upon closure of the original practice she carried the project forward under her own practice from Tender Award to Contract Administration.
