About Us
The practice was established in 2023 by Sole Practitioners Sophia Anderson and Joanna Wemyss, who have been collectively operating in Dumfries and Galloway for over 20 years.
Sophia Anderson
ARB RIAS B.Arch PgDip
Sophia studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture before undertaking her work experience year in Rotterdam in The Netherlands. Upon returning to the UK, Sophia completed her studies at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. Following on from completing her studies, Sophia worked for Lifschutz
Davidson Sandilands Architects in London in particular on their projects for the 2012 Olympics before moving up to South West Scotland and setting up in private practice.
Joanna Wemyss
ARB RIAS B.Arch(Hons) DipAAC
Joanna studied at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow, undertaking an Erasmus exchange at the Accademia di Architettura at Mendrisio, Switzerland, and completed her formal education at the Edinburgh School of Art, Scottish Centre for Conservation Studies. Before setting up on her own she worked for renowned local practice, Simon Winstanley Architects.
