Extensions and Refurbishment, Gatehouse
This historic property had been in the client’s family for some time and had previously undergone a number of alterations that created poor internal circulation.
The first move was to clarify the circulation while minimising impact to significant fabric. Additional bathrooms, a fully accessible showerroom and a second stair were incorporated into the plan, creating a six-bedroomed property. A new modern zinc-clad and extensively glazed extension was added to create a dining space to house the whole family.
Joanna was Project Architect, working on the project under Simon Winstanley Architects.
